On January 22nd to 28th Kaplaaki ry, also known as LG Lappeenranta, organises ESTIEM Innovation Days –seminar in cooperation with Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) and the department of Industrial Management. The topic of the event is Innovations as a Business Environment and the aim is to introduce participants into theory of innovation processes and to offer practical exercises to implement gained knowledge into practice, not forgetting famous Finnish sauna culture.
The academic part covers areas of Open Innovations, Group Decision Support System (GDSS), Russia as a rising innovation operator etc. Studying methods are a combination of interactive lectures, Case studies, Workshops, Simulations and Demo-lectures. The academic mentor of the event is Professor Marko Torkkeli, who is one of the leading researchers in Europe in the field of innovations.
You have also heard lots of stories about Finnish student culture? Always wondered the meaning of baffling Finnish songs? And, of course, you have always been thinking of the difference between incremental and radical innovation? Most of the stories are true, but to be certain, you must come and discover it yourself!
The heart of southern Karelia will offer you the finest selection of Finnish student brands; Sitsit-party, Sauna&Palju, overalls, secret (shh…) student pubs, Minttu, Skittle and nearly anything you can imagine. This all will be executed in pleasant -30 degrees temperature.
The application period will be open from 31st October to 28th November.
We will have 20 participants and the participation fee will be maximum 50 € covering accommodation (hosts), transportations, lecture materials, three (3) meals per day + coffee breaks and all the costs marked on the official programme.
